Let me introduce myself...
My name is Yeni Ontiveros. I have the honor of serving as Dowell Elementary's Principal for the past 2 months. These 2 months have been a wonderful experience. I have been able work alongside a group of dedicated and amazing teachers and staff, an extraordinary community, and of course, super students.
I was born and raised here in El Paso, Texas. I attended Houston Elementary, Crockett Intermediate, and Austin High School. I also attended the University of Texas at El Paso. I received my Bachelors in Interdisciplinary Studies, with a concentration in Bilingual Education and my Master's in Educational Administration.
I have two beautiful daughters who make me want to be the best person I can be.
I have been an educator since 2000. I have taught many students at the primary level both here in El Paso, Texas as well as in Palm Springs, California. I have also had the opportunity to serve as a Reading instructional Coach and Assistant Principal.
I cannot imagine doing something else besides what I do now. I teach and I learn something new everyday. My students motivate me and keep me smiling.
I pride myself in knowing I have a hand in shaping the future of many children. I am here for them. It is my responsibility to ensure that we provide vast educationally sound experiences to promote their growth not only academically, but socially, psychologically and emotionally as well. I firmly believe my role is to serve as an advocate for students as well as to help to create positive and nurturing environments with one goal in mind: student success.
